Description:

Great Floridian Triathlon

When:

Saturday, October 18, 2014. 7:30am Start!

Where:

Clermont Waterfront Park, Clermont, Florida. Clermont is centrally located just 22 miles west of Orlando at the junction of US 27 and SR 50. Major Orlando tourist attractions are only 30 minutes away and the ocean beaches are just an hour away. Orlando International Airport is 40 minutes southeast of Clermont.

Courses:

Swim Course:

A 2.4 mile swim in picturesque Lake Minneola, designated as “Outstanding Waters” by the State of Florida. Athletes swim two laps of a 1.2 mile course. Projected water temperature: 72-80. Swim cut-off is 2 hours and 30 minutes after the start. Participants still swimming after the cut-off time will not be allowed to continue.

Bike Course:

A 3 lap course covering 112 miles along rural country roads. Lap #1 contains World Famous Sugarloaf Mountain, while Laps 2 & 3 do not. Expect numerous rolling hills and a steep but short climb up Sugarloaf Mountain. Technical support teams will travel the course and support/aid stations will be located aproximately 10-12 miles apart. The official bike course cut-off is at 6:30 pm. All participants still on the course at that time will not be allowed to continue and will be removed from the course.

There is also an intermediate cut-off time associated with the 112 mile bike course. The cutoff point is at the the second special needs station at the end of lap 2. All cyclists must reach this location by 4:15 pm or they will not be allowed to continue on the bike course.

Run Course:

The 26.2 mile run is a 3 lap course utilizing the South Lake Trail. Support/aid stations will be located approximately one mile apart. Each support station is equipped with water, thirst quencher, ice, sponges, cola (defizzed), fruit and assorted foods. The run course officially closes at 1:00am.

TriAmerica Triathlon

When:

Clermont Waterfront Park, Clermont, Florida. Clermont is centrally located just 22 miles west of Orlando at the junction of US 27 and SR 50. Course:

Swim: A 2K (1.24 mile) swim in picturesque Lake Minneola, designated as “Outstanding Waters” by the State of Florida. Projected water temperature: 72-80. Swim cut-off is 1 hours and 15 minutes after the start of the last wave. Participants still swimming after the cut-off time will not be allowed to continue.

Bike: A 62K (38 mile) course consisting of the first 30 miles and last 8 miles of the Great Floridian Bike Course.  No major elevation changes, but expect numerous rolling hills and a steep but short climb up Sugarloaf Mountain. Technical support teams will travel the course and support/aid stations will be located approximately 10-12 miles apart. There is no bike course cut-off for the short course.

Run: The 15K (9.3 mile) course, which is on the South Lake Trail, takes you along the Southern shore of Lake Minneola and than out into tree canopied portions of the trail in rural Clermont. Support/aid stations will be located approximately one mile apart. Each support station is equipped with water, thirst quencher, ice, sponges, cola (defizzed), fruit and assorted foods. There is no run course cutoff time for the Short course.

Floridian Sprint Triathlon

When:

Saturday, October 18, 2014. 9:30am Start

1/4 mile swim in picturesque Lake Minneola, designated as “Outstanding Waters” by the State of Florida. Projected water temperature: 72-80.

Bike Course:

8 mile course which includes a lap around Lake Minneola and continues on the rural roads of Clermont, FL.

Run Course:

3 mile run course that utilizes a portion of the South Lake Trail system.
