Description:

2014 White Mountains Triathlon:

The White Mountains Triathlons are excited to announce an exciting weekend of racing in 2014. A new and improved half iron distance layout and Olympic distance course to boot!

Taking place over the weekend of June 7-8, the weekend will kick off with a short course, off-road tri race on Saturday from the waters of Echo Lake and along the trails near Cannon Mountain.

Warm your legs up for the Olympic event the next day, or if perhaps you’re super tough and are inclined to couple it with the half, Go for It!

The half iron distance and Olympic distance events will run coincidentally on Sunday June 8, and will take place in and throughout Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest.

A more magnificent and awe-inspiring venue for a race cannot be found!!

Swim in the crystalline waters of the Notch’s Echo Lake, ride among the fields and forests of the valley region, and along the rocky path of the Wild Ammonusuc River, and through the majesty of the woods of the White Mountain National Forest.

Our infamous “King of the Mountain”cash awards will be made once again for the best climbers among men and women on a pre-selected ascent. Experience a two loop half marathon (Oly is one loop) run over the fabulous paved recreation trail that winds its way from Cannon Mountain down by Echo Lake, by the Cannon Mountain Tramway, adjacent to Profile Lake and onward through the woods and back again.

The scenery of the Notch is unmatched anywhere in New England and will provide those athletes headed to either IM70.3 Mont Tremblant two weeks hence or Lake Placid in July with the best tune-up event that can be found nearby.
