Ultramarathoner Runs to Work

You think your 25 mile commute is bad?  Try running it.

I just found this great article about Alan Geraldi, a Ultramarathoner who decided to run to work as part of his training for ultramarathons.  Geraldi is down to a easy 7 mile run after his office relocated, but previously ran 23 miles, one way, to his old office.  I love that he was training for a IM and realized he couldn’t carry his bike with him on work trips, so he decided to be an Ultramarathoner.  That’s commitment.

Here’s the article about Ultramarathoner Alan Geraldi.  Before his office moved, the WSJ profiled his 23 mile commute here.  There’s even a video of Alan’s commute on YouTube, see below:

  1. Thanks for the kind words and links. Because I got into Western States 100, decided to alter my race plans a bit – instead of Barkley and Vol State, I will be doing the Keys 200 and then the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning – Vermont 100, Western States 100, Leadville 100 and Wasatch Front 100 within a 3 month period followed by Mother Road 100 a few months later. I was thinking of going back to Death Valley and doing Badwater 135 again, but will probably pass and concentrate on the slam. You can see race reports and photos from past Ironmans and other triathlons plus Ultramarathons and just some hikes, races and marathons at my blog: http://endurazone.blogspot.com/ Hope to see you all out on the road and trails soon.
