Description:
NEW FOR 2014
NEW T2 AND FINISH – A NEW LONG COURSE AQUA BIKE and A NEW WORLD’S TOUGHEST HALF RUN COURSE
Tahoe Peak Endurance, LLC is very excited about 2014’s event. We hope that the word has spread that last year’s events were a great success! We are looking forward to hosting another exciting event for those returning and for those who are ready to step up to the challenge of the Auburn Triathlon for the first time. Auburn Triathlon offers 4 scenic triathlons in the foothills of the Sierras. This is a great event for athletes of all ability levels, offering challenging routes over diverse terrain, with incredible scenery and minimal traffic! Swim in Folsom Lake at Rattlesnake Bar State Park, enjoy quiet roads and a very tough, very beautiful bike course, and the tranquility of a run course entirely closed to auto traffic and affording stunning canyon views at seemingly every turn.
The New T2 and Finish!!
We relocated T2 and Finish to the American River Canyon Overlook which is across the street from Railhead Park. This gives us awesome views of the American River Canyon as well as a little more volume with the music without fear of being shut down.
The NEW Long Course Aquabike: 1.2 Mile Swim & 56 Mile Bike
This new event takes the place of the Long Course Duathlon. Offering athletes not fond of running the opportunity to do two thirds of the World’s Toughest Half. Enjoy the unique opportunity to go head to head with long course triathletes then finish up, call it a good day and cheer the runners on.
World’s Toughest Half NEW Run Course
Come see why this is called the World’s Toughest Half. You will never know till you “tri.” The WTH is going back to it’s roots with one of two loops returning part way down into the beautiful American River Canyon followed by a second loop on the all time favorite “canal trail”. Depart from the bland routes with overcrowded fields and enjoy a true adventure into the Sierra. The ultimate athlete-focused, old school “must do” race!
The World’s Toughest Half will prepare iron-distance athletes for any Ironman event. It is a an excellent stepping stone for preparing for (and acclimating to) the Ironman Lake Tahoe
