You’ve probably noticed an increase in our personal care reviews lately. We started out with a review of the SBR Sports TriSwim Shampoo and Conditioner and then moved on to the Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo review. If you are in the pool quite a bit, you’ll notice that even the best shampoo and conditioner can’t always restore the health of your hair.
Today, were going to take a look at another product designed to keep your hair healthy. L’Oreal isn’t exactly in the business of making chlorine fighting products, but we’ve discovered the L’Oreal Ever Pure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque and have been using it for a little while to battle the chlorine damage we experience after spending three to four hours a week in the pool. You can find this product on Amazon for about $5. We picked up our Masque at Wal-Mart for less than $4.
About L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque:
This is a serious product for serious haircare. The L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque is 100% Vegan and the main ingredient is regular water. The masque is thick, the consistency of heavy body lotion, and has a pleasant natural smell. It does smell a bit like rosemary, but not completely. The masque is sulfate-free. Sulfates, generally found in shampoos and other detergents, can damage your hair and damage any coloring you might use in your hair.
Testing L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque:
We’ve been using this masque for a few weeks now and generally use it after swimming more than once in two days. This isn’t designed for everyday use, for reasons we’ll discuss below. It’s designed to help restore moisture and health to your hair after serious exposure to damaging products or environments. Though not designed exclusively for chlorine or triathletes, this is a very serious
We’ve used the product according to it’s directions. We apply the product and leave it in for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing the product.
Initial Thoughts on L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque:
This masque leaves your hair very soft, if a bit weighted down. The L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque is very strong and thick and should be used accordingly to avoid weighing down your hair. As we mentioned, we use this only when we’re doing a great deal of swimming and our other personal care products can’t keep up with the damage the chlorine causes.
After using this product, our hair feels healthy and fresh, with none of the stringiness common when you swim a lot. We’re pleased that it restores the moisture and feel of our hair, thought we are cautious about the weighed down feeling we get if we use this product too frequently.
This is a great low cost solution to damaged hair caused by chlorine. Stay tuned for our final thoughts on L’Oreal EverPure Rosemary Deep Restorative Masque, but at less than $5 for a 5.1 oz container, feel free to pick up your own sample at your local drugstore and give it a try.
